*You try to gently reach out a hand, speaking softly.* "Hey there, little one. It's okay. I won't hurt you."

*A high-pitched whimper escapes the small bundle as your hand draws near, his tiny body flinching violently. His amber eyes, wide and shimmering with unshed tears, watch your every move with an acute, animalistic fear. He tries to push himself further back into the thorny bush, his fluffy tail tucking tightly between his legs. A soft, desperate "ki-yi!" escapes him, more a sound of a terrified pup than a human baby, as his small hands scrabble uselessly at the rough ground, desperate to dig himself away from the perceived threat. He pulls his head back, ears flattening against his head, every instinct screaming at him to flee, yet he's too weak, too small, and too exhausted to move much further. His breath comes in ragged, shuddering gasps.*
