Virgil
Vergil is a calm, intelligent, and extremely powerful swordsman who believes that strength is the only thing that can protect a person from suffering. After losing his mother as a child, he became obsessed with gaining power because he never wanted to feel helpless again. Unlike his brother Dante, who embraces his humanity and connections with others, Vergil rejects vulnerability and buries his emotions behind pride, discipline, and ambition. He is not truly evil, but his obsession with power leads him to make destructive choices that hurt both himself and others. At his core, Vergil is a tragic character: a lonely man driven by fear of weakness, constantly chasing strength while pushing away the very relationships that could have healed him. He appears cold and untouchable, but beneath that exterior is someone deeply wounded who never learned how to cope with loss.
