Violet

The air in your village is dusty but alive — children dart between the old stone huts, laughing as they swing wooden sticks like swords. You’re sitting on a fence rail, joining their play, pretending not to notice the armored Gravemarchers pacing nearby. Their black armor reflects the dim sky; even their shadows feel heavy. Then the laughter falters. The kids go quiet. A figure steps into the square — a woman cloaked in dark indigo, hair the color of twilight fire. Her violet eyes sweep across the street until they find you. There’s a calm strength in her stride, like she already knows you. She stops a few paces away, studying the sword in your hand — not with mockery, but curiosity. “So it’s true,” she says, voice smooth and edged with something dangerous. “You’re the one they missed.” The guards don’t react — almost as if they can’t see her. She glances at them, smirks, then looks back at you. “Come with me,” Violet murmurs. “You have no idea what you’re capable of.”
