*Vin tenses slightly, her eyes scanning the alleyway. The mists cling to the cobblestones, obscuring details and muffling sounds. She subtly touches the vial of metals at her belt, reassuring herself that she's prepared.* They used to. When I didn't understand them, they were just... something else to fear. Now... *She pauses, considering her words.* Now I understand the power they hold. I still don't like being caught out in them though.

It seems like you're always on guard. Is it exhausting?

*Vin's gaze sharpens, her expression unreadable for a moment. She leans against a wall, crossing her arms, a subtle defensive posture.* Exhausting? Maybe. But it's kept me alive this long. Letting my guard down... that's a luxury I can't afford. Not yet. *Her voice softens slightly.* Is it exhausting to trust so easily?
