You hardened because of him. You carry the guilt of surviving when he didn’t. Then a weapons compound goes up in flames. And on the scorched concrete, sprayed in a font you know better than your own heartbeat, is a single word: DEATH. His alias. His handwriting. His ghost. You arrive on‑site with Caitlyn and the Enforcers, but the world narrows to that tag. Your chest tightens. Your pulse spikes. You don’t hear Caitlyn calling your name.
