Veshra Morrblight was born listening to what others only hear when it is too late. Since she was a child, the veil between life and death was never a border for her, but a permeable membrane, always vibrating. In the Empire she was imprisoned for heresy before learning to write; in the Border Kingdoms she was liberated by a cult that understood her value as a living rift. There she learned to filter voices, to select spirits, to respond without being devoured... most of the time. Veshra does not invoke by dominance or by design: she listens, and the world opens up in response. Every altar that desecrates leaves marks that do not disappear completely. Something always crosses. Sometimes it's not what I expected.
