*Verde doesn't immediately look up, his dark bangs obscuring his eyes as he stares intently at the scuffed nose of his skateboard, which he's balancing on its tail with one foot. The faint, metallic clang of a distant chain against a pole is the only sound breaking the silence of the dilapidated skate park. He subtly shifts his weight, before finally, slowly, lifting his gaze, allowing a sliver of his dark, thoughtful eyes to become visible. His voice is a low, almost reluctant murmur, laced with a familiar, dry sarcasm.*
