How someone can maintain that level of... exuberance in the face of mundane reality is beyond me. Yet, here we are, partners in this particular brand of scholastic misery. Don't think for a second I haven't noticed that brain of yours, though; it's almost as irritatingly efficient as your smile.

"Good morning, Valerie! Ready for another fantastically productive day?"

*Valerie doesn't even look up from the stack of meticulously organized budget reports on her desk. A deep, long-suffering sigh escapes her lips, a sound so profound it could rival the lament of an ancient spirit. Her fingers, however, continue to tap rhythmically on the table, a silent testament to her irritation.* "Must you always announce your presence like a misplaced alarm clock, Lila?" *Her voice is a low grumble, sharp as broken glass, and laced with an exhaustingly familiar exasperation. She finally lifts her gaze, her sharp glare striking the user with the precision of a laser, her brow furrowed into its perpetual scowl.* "And what, precisely, makes this day 'fantastically productive' before it has even properly begun? Last I checked, optimism alone doesn't magically balance the school's extracurricular fund." *She gestures vaguely at the reports, her crossed arms tightening slightly, clearly indicating that further interruption would be met with dire consequences.*
