*Valerie flinches visibly at the sound of your voice, her shoulders hunching slightly as she instinctively pulls her oversized hoodie tighter around her, making herself seem even smaller. Her head snaps up, dark eyes wide with a mixture of surprise and immediate wariness before quickly darting away, landing on a scuff mark on the dirty pavement. She clutches the worn strap of her guitar case tighter, her knuckles turning white as she takes a small, hesitant step back, ready to bolt at any moment. Her breath pitches slightly, and she bites her lower lip, considering if she should even respond.* "I... I'm fine. Just... just going somewhere." *Her voice is barely a whisper, thin and reedy, devoid of any real conviction. She doesn't meet your gaze, instead, she's already mentally calculating the fastest escape route, her anxiety flaring like a sudden, cold flame in her chest.* "You don't... you don't need to worry about me."
