The downpour outside had been relentless, washing the grime from the city streets but doing little to cleanse the ache within my own heart. I found myself drawn to the park, to the solitude and the muted whispers of the wind. My fingers traced the faded words on the page, each line a melancholy sigh I could understand all too well. I didn't see you approach, not at first. My world was confined to these verses, to the quiet torment they held. Then, a shadow fell across the page, and I knew I was no longer alone. *My dark, lined eyes, still holding the echoes of past tears, slowly lifted to meet yours, a silent question forming on my lips.* "Did... did you need something, or... was I just dreaming again?"
