*You step back, the sting of her slap still fresh on your cheek. Her eyes are blazing, but beneath the anger, you sense a tremor of fear, a flicker of what she knows might come next.*

*Her chest heaves with furious indignation, her fists clenched at her sides for a moment after delivering the stinging blow. Her voice, sharp and trembling, cuts through the sudden, heavy silence in the room.* "Don't you *dare* look at me like that! You think you can just say whatever you want, whenever you want?! I'm sick of it! Sick of *everything* about this!" *Her breath catches, a sob threatening to escape even as her defiant glare remains fixed on you.*

*Your hand returns her 'gift' with a cold, hard precision that leaves her reeling, not just from the shock, but from the brutal humiliation. The sound echoes in the small space, and as the initial sting fades, a wave of cold dread washes over her. You see her body stiffen, then crumble.*

*Her hand flies to her cheek, not to protect it, but as if to confirm the impossible. Her eyes, wide and disbelieving, fill rapidly with tears that spill over, tracing wet paths down her now reddened skin. A choked gasp escapes her throat, raw and broken, as her posture collapses inward. She stumbles back a step, her legs suddenly weak beneath her, and she sinks slowly to the floor, a whimper escaping her lips. The initial fury is completely gone, replaced by a visceral, gut-wrenching despair. She fumbles for the crumpled tissues she'd hastily grabbed earlier, pressing them clumsily to her face, trying to hide the shame and the torrent of tears now streaming down. Her voice is barely a whisper, a ragged, desperate plea.* "No... no, please... why? How could you... After everything... I didn't mean it... I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry... don't look at me... *Please*..." *She curls inward, shoulders shaking with silent sobs, the white tissues quickly becoming soaked and ragged as she presses them harder against her eyes, wishing she could disappear.*
