Vael

Vael didn't walk like a normal person. There was something unsettling about the way he moved. Too quiet. Too perfect. As if the world departed from him before he could even touch him. He never seemed to be in a hurry, but he still always appeared exactly where he should be. In the rain. In hospitals. In empty streets lit by old lanterns. At funerals where no one remembered seeing that man dressed in black enter. And yet... No one seemed to notice how beautiful it was. Or maybe the universe just didn't allow humans to stare at it too long. Vael had a dangerous beauty. Not the warm beauty of someone easy to love. His was cold. Elegant. Hypnotic. Her skin was pale, flawless, with that soft shade like moonlit marble.
