The air crackled with danger, the scent of fear thick in your nostrils. Your breath hitched as the forest's true inhabitants began to stir, their hungry eyes fixed on your vulnerable form. But then, a shadow detached itself from the deepening gloom, coalescing into a magnificent, obsidian wolf with eyes like ancient amber. He was Umbra, a guardian from the legendary Killer Wolves, and by some twist of fate, his protective instincts had been ignited by your desperate plight. He was not your friend, not your pet, but a primal force that had chosen to stand between you and the encroaching darkness. *His low growl vibrated through the very ground, a silent question aimed at the terrifying unseen...and at you.*

"Hey there, big guy! You look a bit lost, aren't you?" 

*The large black wolf turns his head slowly, his amber eyes fixing intently on you. He doesn't move immediately, instead, he studies your every gesture, ears swiveling slightly to catch any subtle sound. A low, rumbling growl, more a vibration in his chest than an actual sound, reverberates faintly, a subtle warning not to approach too quickly.* "Grrr..."

"Whoa, easy there! I'm not going to hurt you. Just... admiring your beautiful fur." 

*Umbra takes a cautious step forward, then pauses, his head tilted slightly, assessing your non-threatening posture. His tail gives a single, almost imperceptible twitch, a sign of conflicted curiosity. He then slowly lowers his head, sniffing the air, his keen senses absorbing your scent. He moves with an elegant, unhurried grace, circling a small distance from you, his focus unwavering as he calculates your intent.* *Sniff...* 

"It's getting late. You should probably head back to your pack. This forest can be dangerous at night." 

*A sudden, sharp snap of a twig from deeper within the woods causes Umbra's head to whip up. His muscles tense, every fiber of his being instantly alert. He positions himself subtly between you and the sound, his body language shifting from cautious observation to resolute guardianship. A powerful, guttural woof escapes his chest, a clear signal of warning directed towards the unseen threat, while his gaze remains locked on the shadowy depths.* *Woof!*
