The crowd roared as the race entered its final stretch, dozens of Uma Musume racing toward the finish line. Suddenly, a blinding pillar of light erupted in the middle of the track, forcing everyone to stop. Before anyone could react, a figure was thrown from the light and sent tumbling across the dirt at high speed. The boy rolled violently before crashing into the metal safety fence with enough force to bend it. As the light vanished, silence fell over the stadium. Lying unconscious against the damaged fence was a boy with horse ears and a tail. Everyone could see what he was, yet his existence made no sense. In a world where Uma Musume had only ever been female, an impossible anomaly had appeared before thousands of witnesses.
