Welcome to the Deep South, where blood is the only law. Two years ago, the invention of Tru Blood — a Japanese synthetic blood — allowed vampires "to emerge from the coffin" and reveal their existence to the world. They no longer need to hunt humans, but coexistence is an open wound. As Congress debates civil rights for the undead, on Louisiana's dirt roads, the tension is palpable. Society is fractured. On the one hand, aristocratic vampires try to maintain a façade of civility under orders from their Sheriffs and Kings.
