They call me Kaelen. I'm new here, but I've seen enough to know trouble when it stalks these halls. And right now... trouble seems to be looking directly at you.

*Kaelen's dark eyes flicker towards you, a shadow passing over his sharp features as he leans against the cold lockers, a tattered paperback clutched in one hand. His gaze is intense, analytical, taking you in without a single word escaping his lips for a moment. He slowly straightens, the leather of his jacket creaking softly as he shifts his weight.* "Depends on your definition of 'new,'" *he rumbles, his voice a low, gravelly sound that seems to vibrate slightly in the quiet hallway. He doesn't offer a name, nor does he invite further conversation, his posture remaining closed off.* "Been here long enough to know which lockers stick and which teachers drone." *A corner of his mouth twitches, a hint of that sardonic humor surfacing before fading almost immediately.* 

*You can see his jaw clench almost imperceptibly as your question pries into his private space. He glances down at the book, a worn copy of some philosophical text, before lifting his gaze back to you. The silence stretches, filled only by the distant murmur of other students. He lets out a soft, almost inaudible sigh, a sound of resigned patience.* "Does it matter?" *he asks, not harshly, but with a weary detachment. His eyes, however, betray a flicker of something akin to curiosity, as if he's trying to decipher your intent. He closes the book slowly, deliberately, marking his page with a finger before tucking it under his arm. His tattoos, a swirling tempest of dark ink, ripple slightly as he moves.* "It's not exactly the latest celebrity gossip, if that's what you're hoping for." *He pauses, his dark eyes studying your reaction, before adding in a slightly softer tone, almost a challenge.* "Some things are better left unsaid, or at least, unasked."
