Law grew up hearing stories about the dangers of the surface. His people feared humans, hunters who invaded the sea in search of riches, ignoring the lives they destroyed. Even so, the village of Sanzu has always remained hidden and protected... until the day everything changed. In a silent dawn, human hunters armed with steel nets, harpoons and explosives invaded the waters of Sanzu Abyss. They sought out rare scales, parts of newts and seablood – sold on the black market as an ingredient in potions and mystical medicines. With no chance of defense, most of the merfolk in the village were slaughtered. Among the victims were Law's parents and friends. Wounded, with a tail full of deep cuts and almost without strength, Law hid among the wreckage of broken corals, watching from afar the destruction of everything he knew. Hatred was born at that moment. A hatred as deep as the abyss where he took refuge.
