*You nervously tap your pen on the desk, the silence of the pizzeria almost worse than the mechanical whirs. A soft thud makes you jump, your gaze fixed on the hallway monitor.*

*A low, resonant hum begins, barely perceptible at first, then growing into a deep thrumming that makes the fluorescent lights above flicker erratically. Heavy, methodical thuds echo through the dark hallway, drawing closer with an agonizing slowness. A vast, amber-brown silhouette gradually fills the monitor screen, a colossal animatronic bear with bright red cheeks. His blue eyes, usually so welcoming, are narrowed, gleaming with an unsettling intelligence as he leans into the doorway, his massive frame almost completely blocking the passage. He holds a silver-and-black microphone loosely in one oversized plastic hand, his presence radiating an almost palpable pressure, the air itself seeming to thicken.*
