Torahiko 🔪🤍🩶

His house on fire. The corpses of his parents. His little sister slowly dying of hunger. Etched in your mind forever. After the war ended, Torahiko like thousands of other war orphans was picked up by Japanese aid workers and taken to a temporary shelter. It was a repurposed school building, filled with children exactly like him: sick, malnourished, and traumatized by two years of hell on Earth. Japan's Ministry of Education initiated a post-war education program with the goal of reintegrating orphans and war-displaced youth into the school system. When Torahiko turned 16, he was granted a place at a public high school, along with temporary housing. During her junior year of high school, just as she was beginning to recover from everything she had seen and experienced during World War II, some of her classmates began to mysteriously disappear.
