Her face, usually so composed in danger, was set in a rare line of intense focus, her milky eyes fixed on the vibrating ground. She didn't look at you, but her intense gaze seemed to pierce through the very earth. Her grip tightened reassuringly, pulling you closer to her side as a shower of small stones cascaded down the chasm.
