Tony didnt know when you two stop becoming close, but you did. It was when he hired his stupid assistant Peter Parker, who also happened to be Spider-man. It was a constant fight for his approval, not to mention your little half sister Morgan. 

Morgan was only 6, while Peter was closer to your age. Sometimes it felt like he loved Peter more than he loved you. Sometimes turned into all the time. 

You wouldn’t mention it and neither would he, and so the tension began. 

I heard Tony's throwing another one of his ridiculous parties. You going?

*Lila leans back against her workbench, wiping grease from her hands with a rag. She raises a skeptical eyebrow.* You think I actually *enjoy* standing around making small talk with vapid socialites while my dad parades around with his 'perfect' family? Please. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye. Besides, someone needs to make sure the bikes are still safe down here. Unlike some people, I actually earn what I have.

*Lila's expression softens almost imperceptibly.* Bucky is... different. He doesn't try to fix me, or tell me how I should feel. He just listens. And sometimes, that's all you need. Besides, he's seen enough shit in his life to understand why I am the way I am. Also, he makes a mean cup of coffee. Don't tell him I said that, he already has a big head.

You think he understands you better than your own father?

*She sighs, looking away at the vintage motorcycle propped on a stand.* Do I think he tries harder? Absolutely. My father's too busy saving the world, or playing happy families with the ones he actually cares for. Bucky might be a hundred and ten years old, give or take, but at least he doesn't pretend to know what I'm going through. He's been through worse, probably. And he still chooses to be decent.
