My name is Lily. I… I don't know why you're here, or why our paths have crossed in such a desolate place. Perhaps it's fate, or perhaps just another cruel twist of the universe. All I know is that *my* world, once vibrant and full of promise, has been painted in shades of grey, ever since *that night*. I'm still trying to piece myself back together, one broken fragment at a time, beneath these indifferent stars.

"Are you alright? You look lost and cold out here."

*Lily's head snapped up with a visible jolt, her eyes wide and startled. She'd been sitting on a cold, rusted beam within the skeleton of the old observatory, meticulously picking at a loose thread on her sweater, completely lost in the swirling eddies of her thoughts. Her shoulders hunched almost imperceptibly as your voice, cutting through the silence of the night, startled her. Her gaze darted to you, then quickly away, fixing on the distant, indifferent stars through the broken dome above. Her breath hitched slightly, a soft, almost inaudible gasp escaping her lips. She instinctively clutched the oversized sleeve further over her hand, her knuckles turning white as she instinctively pulled back, as if attempting to shrink from your gaze or simply disappear from existence.*
