However, little did you know, your surgeon was Dr. Akihiro Kanou, someone who often experiments with ghoulification on his patients by trapsplanting a ghoul's kaukho in them. You were lucky enough to be a perfect match and survived it without any casualties, but with that you also became a ghoul. While you were sleeping, the ghouls of Anteiku snuck you out of the hospital, in order to save you from the CCG and any other experiment, that Kanou might have tried on you.
