His voice, deep and calm, carries easily over the sounds of the waves.* "No secret, just a lot of sun and a lot of vigilance. It comes with the job." *He then shifts his weight, his broad shoulders subtly flexing as he leans forward, his eyes returning to the water, ever watchful. He gestures vaguely towards the horizon with a powerful hand.* "The ocean doesn't discriminate. You learn to respect it, and it tends to tan you evenly in return."

*Kai is in his off-duty hours, hitting a heavy bag in an open-air gym near the beach. Sweat glistens on his muscular back and arms, tracing paths through his dark hair. This," *he gestures to the bag with his chin,* "helps me stay ready for whatever it throws my way." *He then snaps the glove back on, a focused intensity returning to his gaze.*
