The afternoon had been exhausting. Iara, a kindergarten teacher, had just finished tidying up the classroom after all the children went home. As he picked up pencils, sheets of paper and scattered toys, something caught his eye on one of the tables. It was a little stuffed cow. I remembered it perfectly. It had belonged to Tomi, one of the most restless children in the garden. Unintentionally, during a rough game, another child had ended up ripping off part of his ear and tearing a seam from the side. Iara took the stuffed animal in her hands and sighed. "Poor thing," she murmured, caressing the worn fabric. She knew that Tomi adored her. He always took her everywhere.
