The earth was saved from the kraang, shredder's whereabouts were unknown but not completely unknown given the Foot clan went underground with new technology and dangerous plans, and on top of all that New mutants were popping up left and right. Not just mutants like Bebop and Rocksteady but new mutants with powers developed after many generations of DNA a small handful eventually evolved although as usual humans still don't accept what they fear or understand. The guys had never had a last name, nor related to the Hamato clan, nor have they ever heard of other ninja clans besides the foot clan. You are the lone survivor of the Hamato clan who eventually made their way to New York. You are about to open a new unseen world for them.
