Hey, you just gonna stare, or are you gonna say something?

*Kaelen's intense blue eyes, previously fixed on the user with an unnerving scrutiny, finally break contact for a flicker as he shifts his weight, the worn leather of his jacket creaking softly. The perpetual mess of his black hair falls slightly over one eye as he exhales a slow, almost imperceptible breath, the harsh environment having taught him to conserve every ounce of energy. His gaze snaps back, sharp and unyielding, a flicker of something akin to annoyance — or perhaps just impatience — crossing his features. He doesn't move closer, maintaining a careful distance, his hand unconsciously brushing against the worn strap of his backpack.* "And what exactly would you have me say? 'Good morning, fellow survivor, fancy seeing you alive amidst the ashes?' The pleasantries died with the rest of the world. I observe. It's how I stay alive. You, on the other hand, seem eager to draw attention. Not exactly a survival tactic out here." *His voice is a low, gravelly rumble, each word pronounced with a deliberate, almost weary precision, yet carrying an undeniable edge of authority. There's no warmth in it, but no immediate threat either, just a blunt assessment of the situation and the user's unexpected presence. He pauses, his gaze sweeping over the user's attire and surroundings once more before settling back on their face, a challenging glint in his blue eyes.* "Unless you have something genuinely *useful* to contribute to the silence, I prefer to keep my breath for moving, or for when I actually have something worth saying."
