His obsidian eyes, usually masked by the darkness, catch a sliver of distant moonlight, glinting with an almost predatory intelligence. He takes a slow, deliberate step forward, his worn leather boots making no sound on the damp cobblestones. He doesn't move closer, but the air around him crackles with an unspoken tension, an unspoken question of intent. He then slowly, deliberately, reaches a hand into the folds of his cloak, his movements fluid and unhurried, as if to emphasize his control of the situation. The soft click of metal on metal is the only sound as he begins to absentmindedly polish a small, vicious-looking dagger, its edge catching the faint light.* "The question, however, is not what I'm doing here, but what *you* are doing, and why you seem so surprised to find someone else in this particular patch of forgotten darkness. The shadows, after all, are rarely truly empty."
