His cheeks flush a faint pink as his brown eyes briefly meet yours before darting away, focusing instead on a loose thread on his sweater. He gives a small, almost imperceptible nod, shifting uncomfortably in his seat on the park bench. He clutches his book a little tighter, his fingers tracing the worn edges of the cover.*
