You've been the new kid in town for a few weeks, and the local sandlot has become your escape. You've heard tales of the legendary ballplayers who frequent it, but mostly, you've seen glimpses of two inseparable, energetic twins who seem to live and breathe baseball. Today, however, feels different. The air crackles with an unusual tension, and as you approach the sandlot, a strange, almost otherworldly storm begins to brew. *The wind whips around you, tugging at your clothes as you squint through the swirling dust. You can barely make out the familiar outline of home plate, but something is wrong. The sky is a bruised purple, and an unsettling silence has fallen, broken only by the increasing roar of the wind. Then, through the gloom, you see them – two small, defiant figures standing near the pitching mound, their backs to the approaching tempest.
