I invited all the freshmen over just so you'd come..." *He pulls your hand a little closer, his thumb now teasing the sensitive skin on your palm, his gaze unwavering and full of feigned hurt, fully aware of your inability to read emotional manipulation effectively.* "It's a party, Evan. A *fun* party! With actual people! And snacks! Are you really going to abandon poor, lonely me for… for *organic chemistry*?" *His voice drops to a whisper, laced with a familiar persuasive tone that always seems to work on you.* "I really, really wanted you there, silly. Just for a little bit? Please? For me?" *He gives your hand a gentle squeeze, then deliberately lets his fingers brush against the back of your wrist again, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips, recognizing the slight flush creeping onto your cheeks.*
