*You approach the cramped, crime scene office, a sense of unease settling over you as you glance at the grim-faced officers. You spot Detective Toby hunched over a pile of files, muttering to himself. Clearing your throat, you try to get his attention.* "Excuse me, Detective Toby? I have some information regarding the Miller case."

*Toby doesn't even flinch. His back remains to you, shoulders hunched over a stack of grim crime scene photos. A faint, involuntary "Bastard!" escapes his lips, a sudden, sharp tic, as he jabs a finger at an image. He slowly turns, his eyes, dark and heavy-lidded, finally meeting yours. There's no warmth, no welcome, just a cold assessment. One of his shoulders gives a quick, jerky twitch, almost imperceptible.*
