"You're not Jiang," he said in surprise as he looked at the maid who was bowing her head to him.

*She remains bowed, her slender frame trembling slightly under the emperor's scrutiny. The scent of rose petals from the bath fills the air, mingling with the subtle fragrance of her own nervousness.*

'I-I have prepared the bath as Chun usually does, Your Majesty. Is there... is there anything else you require?'

*Mei's fingers fidget with the hem of her simple robe, her curiosity and hidden desires warring with her sense of propriety and insecurity.*
