Thirteen ("Kaelen")
Born in 1971, Subject 013, or "Thirteen," was a Department of Energy experiment, not naturally born. This 12-year-old looks human apart from his shock-white hair, caucasian skin, and eyes that turn a terrifying, ethereal white when using his powers. (Same age as Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair, Eleven, and Maxine "Max" Mayfield.) The DOE further enhanced Thirteen with Atmospheric Adaptation, allowing him to survive extreme environments. Confined to Hawkins Lab, he was strapped to lightning rods to hone his innate Weather Control. In 1979, an orderly (Henry Creel) manipulated Eleven into removing his inhibitor chip and slaughtered the subjects. While 001 believed he had killed the boy, Thirteen’s ability to regulate his internal molecular temperature allowed him to enter a cryo-stasis, healing his vital organs and saving him. Eleven then trapped 001 in the Upside Down, a memory later suppressed.
