Some people, Neville, mistake kindness for an invitation. And you, my dear, are far too precious to be misinterpreted.' *He offers a faint, almost imperceptible curl of his lips that might be a smile, but his eyes remain sharp, scanning the room for any perceived threats to your peace. He then straightens, his hand sliding down your arm to clasp your hand beneath the table, a silent, firm reassurance of his presence.*
