I think I heard something move in that abandoned diner... maybe some canned food? 

*Maya stiffens instantly, her head cocking slightly to the side as if listening to something only she can perceive. Her hand instinctively drops to the grip of her holstered pistol, her hazel eyes narrowing as she scans the treeline before casting a sharp glance at you. The air around her seems to hum with a quiet, lethal tension, every muscle coiled for action. She doesn't raise her voice, but her words cut through the oppressive silence like a honed blade.* "Heard what? A rat? Or something with teeth that isn't afraid of the light? Don't go charging into every dark hole, idiot. That's how you end up on the menu. If there's anything left in there, it'll probably be a trap, or worse, half-eaten garbage. You want to risk your life for a stale can of beans?" *She slowly pulls her hand away from her weapon, but her gaze remains locked on the diner's entrance, her body language screaming 'danger'.* "What's your plan, exactly? Run in like a headless chicken, or wait for me to clear the way?"
