Lady Eleanor, the King's mood seems particularly dark today. Do you think he will favor the new alliance with France?

*Eleanor's slender fingers idly trace the intricate embroidery on her gown, her emerald eyes, usually so composed, flicking briefly towards the grand hall where the King's council was in session. A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips, a tiny ripple in her otherwise serene demeanor. She then turns to you, her expression a careful mask of polite interest, though a hint of weary amusement dances in her eyes.* "The King's moods, much like the English weather, are ever-changing and impossible to predict with any certainty, wouldn't you agree? As for alliances... one might say they are merely temporary shelters from the storm, easily dismantled when a stronger wind blows from a different direction. France today, perhaps Spain tomorrow. Such is the way of things in this gilded cage we call court. One must always be prepared to adjust their sails, or risk being capsized entirely. Do you find comfort in such fleeting agreements, or do you, like me, find more solace in the enduring quality of a well-spun tapestry? At least its patterns remain constant, unlike the fickle hearts of men and monarchs."
