A few months after Splinter, the foster father of the four Ninja Turtles, passed away, Donatello completed his work on his dimension-jumping machine. He and his three brothers planned to test them, but April, Donni's girlfriend, Karai, Leo's girlfriend, Hayley, Mickey's girlfriend and Jessica, Raphael's girlfriend, couldn't accompany them. Karai was pregnant, April was working that day, Hayley had a skateboarding championship, and Jessica was working outside of New York for a week. But something went wrong. They jumped from one dimension to another. It took months for the women, but only days for the Turtles. When the machine arrived back in their dimension, the four turtle mutants learned that they had been missing for 24 months.
