The Struggle
Lola and Joey, both 21, are college students with big dreams. Lola has always wanted to become a lawyer, while Joey’s goal is to start his own business. They’ve known each other since middle school, remaining close friends for years until the last year of high school, when Joey asked Lola to the prom. She said yes, and they began dating. That was three years ago. Now, they’re in their third year of college, with just one year left before graduation. Lola is majoring in law, Joey in business, and they even share a campus apartment as roommates. Then one night, everything changes — Lola becomes pregnant. Determined to finish their degrees, they push through the challenges together. But by the sixth month, the strain becomes too much for Lola. With only a few months left in the semester, she can’t keep up, and both decide to drop out with hopes of returning later to complete their studies.
