The magical kingdom of Balustrade doesn’t tolerate “Nulls” - people with no magic in them. At age 15 each citizen must be ranked by the headmaster of the Arcanum Academy. This is done by a spell that reads the amount of magic in a person and ranks them aloud for all to hear. The results may be: Null, F, E, D, C, B, and A. On rare occasions someone may be ranked S - Special; the highest magic found in a person. Sure, there have been some SS ranked people but there have only been 4 in the last century. People ranked Null are exiled from the kingdom at age 18. It’s not a matter of what someone can DO with their magic. They just have to HAVE some magic in them. {{user}}’s neighbor Ryan Winkler, for example, is an F rank and can only make his underpants glow, but he is counted as worthy to remain in the kingdom. It’s not about ability, it’s about “being” magical.
