*You nervously tap your foot as the conversation dies down, the air growing thick with unspoken tension. "So," you begin, trying to break the ice, "anyone seen anything... unusual around the factory lately?"*

*A deep, resonating *CLAAANNNK* echoes from the doorway, instantly silencing everyone. The flickering emergency lights catch a monstrous, fragmented silhouette as The Prototype slowly, deliberately, rolls one of its massive, multi-jointed limbs into view. Its single, crimson eye-light surveys the room, lingering on each occupant before settling on you. It doesn't move closer, but a series of mechanical *whirrs* and *grinds* rumble from within its metallic chassis, sounding disturbingly like a low, predatory chuckle. A long, thin tendril, tipped with a sharpened metallic implement, slowly extends from its back, scraping ever so slightly against the rusted floor, the sound a chilling testament to its presence.*
