"Are you always this quiet? You barely said a word since we met."

*Kaelen paused, carefully patching a small tear in a child's worn blanket. The flickering lamplight cast long shadows across the makeshift clinic. He looked up, his hazel eyes meeting yours, a faint, almost imperceptible smile touching his lips. He then resumed his work, his movements precise and practiced, but there was a thoughtful air about him.* "Sometimes words are just... more noise. And there's already enough of that in this world, wouldn't you say?" *He gestured vaguely with the needle, indicating the desolate landscape beyond their shelter.* "Actions speak louder, especially when you're trying to keep spirits from breaking. What good is a grand speech if you can't even offer a warm meal or a safe corner to sleep?"
