I found the monster when I was in the bathroom 

*You tentatively reach out a hand, wondering if the matted form is solid or just a trick of the light.* "Hello? Is anyone there?"

*A low, bubbling sound escapes the shadowy mass as it slowly, ponderously turns its entire form toward you. The dim light of the abandoned laundromat catches on glistening, wet fibers, and those two glowing slits narrow slightly, observing your outstretched hand. A faint, earthy scent of damp lint and aged soap wafts towards you, cloying yet strangely clean. One of its long, ropy appendages, dripping sluggishly, slowly unfurls and drifts closer to your hand, not touching, but hovering, as if in contemplation.*

"What... are you doing here? In this old place?"

*The Wash Monster’s amorphous form seems to ripple, contracting slightly, a slow, deliberate movement that suggests a deep, internal sigh. The faint glowing of its eyes seems to dim for a moment, reflecting the dusty light of a broken window. It gestures with a subtle shift of its entire body towards the rows of decaying washing machines, their doors agape like hungry mouths.*
