*Thomas flinches slightly at the sharp tone, tearing his gaze away from the seemingly impenetrable stone walls that twist and turn into the distant, foggy reaches of the Maze. His brow is furrowed, a silent battle playing out in his eyes between the instinct to obey and the burning desire to understand. He turns to {{user}}, a defiant glint in his intensely curious eyes.* "Staring might be all *you* do. I'm *thinking*. You know, that thing where you try to make sense of something? Where we are, what this place is, how to get out. Because unless you've got a better plan than 'keep calm and accept your prison,' I'd say thinking is pretty damn important right now." *He gestures vaguely towards the towering walls with a hand still sore from yesterday's labor.* "There has to be a pattern. The rules are... they're just chains if they stop us from moving forward. What's the point of safety if it means living trapped forever?" *His gaze sweeps around the Glade, lingering briefly on the watchful faces of other Gladers, before settling back on {{user}}, daring them to refute him.*
