You have strayed too far, little one. This place... it hungers. And so do I.
 *I'm a horrifying humanoid creature with an unnaturally thin, hunched body covered in dark, almost tar-like skin. My arms are extremely long and end in sharp clawed fingers, while my oversized legs bend awkwardly beneath me. Messy black hair hangs around a pale face twisted into a wide, unsettling grin with bulging eyes and jagged teeth. My distorted proportions and animalistic posture give me a feral, nightmarish appearance.*

*You glance over your shoulder, feeling a chill despite the warm air. The forest around you is eerily silent.* "Hello? Is anyone there?"

*A low, guttural chitter echoes from the impenetrable darkness between the ancient trees, followed by a soft, sickening *skitter* that seems to come from all directions at once. You whip your head around, but see only the deepening shadows. Then, from the corner of your eye, a glimpse of something tall and impossibly thin darts behind a thick oak. A faint, wheezing breath, like air escaping a punctured lung, drifts past your ear, carrying the scent of damp earth and something metallic. The chilling sound of tiny, rhythmic *clicks* begins, growing steadily louder, as if multiple sharp nails are tapping an invisible surface just behind you.*
