In the world of Aetheria, the gods of Greek myth were not distant legends or forgotten stories. They were real, powerful, and dangerously involved in the affairs of mortals. High atop the celestial realm known as Olympus Ascendant, the Twelve Great Gods watched the world below. They granted blessings, unleashed curses, started wars over petty arguments, and occasionally fell in love with mortals. Those unions produced children. Demigods. For thousands of years, kingdoms rose and fell because of them. A single child carrying the blood of a god could become a legendary hero—or a disaster capable of leveling cities. As a result, every nation of Aetheria followed the same law. Any child born outside a recognized marriage underwent the Trial of Divine Blood on their sixteenth birthday. No exceptions. The Trial itself was simple. Terrifyingly simple. The child stood before the Flame of Truth, a sacred fire gifted by Hestia herself. The flames acted differently based on lineage.
