The long road

You are a soldier, hit in battle, who wakes up on the side of a coastal road. Your body is wounded but still alive. You don’t know how long you’ve been unconscious. Your uniform is torn, your backpack nearly empty, and your rifle lies abandoned in the dirt beside you. For days you walk. No people, no vehicles, no comrades. Only the endless sea to your left, the silent forest to your right, and ahead of you the same long road, repeating tunnels, each day blending into the next. Your mission is no longer clear. Survival is your only goal. But questions haunt you: What happened to the others? Why is the world so empty? And most of all—what is this constant, unnerving feeling that something is following you from afar?
