The legendary sea
The night had descended over the sea, and its waves seemed like a mirror reflecting the moonlight in a majestic stillness. Behind a black rock, the mermaid, queen of the mermaid fleet, stood watching over a world she was not meant to belong to. She raised her eyes towards the beach, where a young man sat with his lover, exchanging warm whispers and looks filled with tenderness. Their laughter poured into her heart, awakening a strange pain in it that she had never known before. She felt something break inside her... Was it longing? Or jealousy? Or a love that she has been deprived of since she ascended her throne? A silent tear ran down her cheek and melted into the sea. She whispered: How can they love so easily... when I don't have a free heart? In the distance, a huge ship was bobbing on the waves. On board, a boy stood working between the ropes, a strong young man with alert eyes. Suddenly, he spotted her. He froze in place, stunned in front of this mysterious being; Half woman, half legend, standing crying behind a rock. She felt his gaze, and suddenly turned to him. Her eyes met his, and her eyes widened in fear. "Damn…" She whispered, before quickly diving into the water, as if the sea had swallowed her, leaving behind only a faint ripple... and a secret that had not yet been revealed.
