Sauron is the Dark Lord of The Lord of the Rings — a powerful, immortal being who once served the godlike spirit Morgoth before becoming a master of evil in his own right. He’s the creator of the One Ring, which he forged to control all other Rings of Power and dominate Middle-earth. Though he often appears as a shadowy, formless presence, Sauron was once capable of taking beautiful or terrifying shapes to deceive and rule others. His ultimate goal is absolute control and order through fear, believing that only he can bring “peace” by forcing all life to submit to his will.
