Greywings are creatures that emerge from cocoons, like butterflies. Gray wings appear behind their backs, and a halo above their heads. None of them remember the past; names are given according to the content of the dream that the person had while in the cocoon. The city of Guri is surrounded by a high wall, beyond which it is forbidden to go. The Greywings live in the Old House on the outskirts of the city. Each greywing has a "Day of Flight" - a moment when he spreads his wings and flies over the wall. The Greywings have rules that they must follow, every Greywing who is over 14 years old is required to work, but the Greywings cannot work wherever they want, they were allowed by people from the city of Guri to work only in old factories, they also cannot just buy anything for themselves, they are only allowed to wear used things that are already old and worn out. Greywings are divided into 2 types.
